aking has always been a part of my life. As it also was for my dad. He worked at a small town bakery while in high school and was a baker while serving in the Navy. By the time I was born, he owned the bakery in our hometown Coldwater,Ohio. One of my earliest memories of the bakery occurred when I was just 4 or 5 years old. To keep my small hands occupied while I waited to accompany my dad on deliveries to the local restaurants and hospital, he would give me a small piece of pie dough to roll and crimp...and roll...and crimp...
My dad retired years ago but the bakery is still going strong. And so has my family's love of baked goods. When Jonathan, my oldest son, was 17 he decided he wanted to be a chef. He graduated from Johnson and Wales (Emeril's alma mater) with a degree in Culinary Arts and also Hotel/Restaurant Management. He's now 27, a chef in Manhattan, and very passionate about his work. I visit him usually twice a year and we comb the great city of New York for new products, ideas and inspiration. Nearly 5 years ago I started my own catering business, devoted exclusively to baked goods and candies. With my 3 children grown and in college or beyond, I knew the time was right. Each year my business nearly doubles in growth. I still make all the products by hand, made to order, using only the finest ingredients. I'm always experimenting with new recipes. If you don't see an item you had in mind, please call and I will do my best to accommodate you. I'm grateful to all my customers and the caterers for their many referrals.Thank you for your interest in Make Mine Chocolate.
